  • Five ways to win with email marketing

Instead of trying to predict the future of email marketing, we think it’s more productive to share the ways you can win in 2019.The biggest change in 2019: Email is your content! Instead of sending people somewhere else, you now have the tools to create a great experience in their inbox. Check out our 5 recommendations to keep your emails fresh in 2019.
#1. Let people interact with your emails
Email marketing has gotten a technology makeover, allowing you to create dynamic emails that people can interact with. Newsletters are no longer static. You now have all the engagement capabilities to deliver a great experience within your email.
#2. Automation and segmentation for everyone
Email marketing tools have become more intuitive and easier to use, enabling people of all skill levels to automate and segment their emails. When you create automated email sequences and target smaller segments, you’ll connect in a more meaningful way.
    #3. Have fun with storytelling
We constantly hear that attention spans are shrinking. But when people find high-quality content that tells a story, they spend time with it and want more. Storytelling and informal language are how people connect in real life, so it makes sense that email content will move in this direction as well.
#4. Good email design is invisible
As email focuses more on storytelling, email designs will become more minimalist. The design mantra for 2019 is ‘less is more’. Try using plain text emails that resemble a personal message sent by a friend.
#5. GDPR helps build trust with people beyond the EU
GDPR was a big deal for the EU, and it will influence the rest of the world in 2019. Your subscribers are aware of these regulations, and they are expecting you to go above and beyond to protect their privacy. Respect your readers and be super clear about how you use their data.
Email marketing has found its sweet spot. Not only do the advanced features give you the power to use email as a content destination, but the user-friendly nature of the new email tools allows anyone to take advantage.

  • Is Wi-Fi Marketing Right for Your Business?

Is Wi-Fi Marketing Right for Your Business?

You’re happy when you go into a business and they offer free Wi-Fi. Don’t you want your customers to feel that way too?

    Let’s face it.

Nobody likes having to eat into their monthly data allowance to look something up on the fly. When you are home, your phone is connected to your Wi-Fi. And, when you go into a business that makes their Wi-Fi available to their customers, you’re grateful.

    Guess what that means?

The free Wi-Fi you offer your customers is also – drum roll, please – a terrific marketing opportunity .

Handle it right, and you can use that connection to build your list, gather information about your customers, and even improve your customer service.

    Here’s how.

    My Image

    What is Wi-Fi Marketing?

Wi-Fi marketing is simply marketing that’s targeted to a customer’s mobile device.

When you make your Wi-Fi available to customers, you can begin collecting information about them even before they get access.

Once you have their information and they’re online with you, you can target them with ads, including both general ads and offers tailored specifically to their behavior when they’re in your store, or in the proximity of your store!

As you might expect, Wi-Fi marketing is best suited to businesses with a physical location.

If you own a restaurant, bar, club, or retail store – or any other business where customers come to see you regularly – you can benefit from using Wi-Fi marketing.

Is Wi-Fi Marketing Right for Your Business?

Using Wi-Fi Marketing to Build Your List

Do you have an email list?

Granting customers access to your Wi-Fi, or an ‘open’ SECONDARY Wi-Fi connection, is a great way to build your list.

You could open up your Wi-Fi without gathering information about your customers, but why would you?

Most people would be willing to give up their email address to get some free Wi-Fi.

You can tether your Wi-Fi login to a simple opt-in box that asks for the customer’s email address and first name.

Once you have their email addresses, you can use them to send promotions and relevant content that will help turn them from one-time visitors into loyal customers.

Another option, if you’re using SMS marketing (or want to), is to ask customers for their mobile number instead of (or in addition to) their email address. A word of caution, though – as I’ve told you before – adding one extra field to a form can decrease your conversion rate. My advice is to pick either an email address or a mobile number and go from there.

    Wi-Fi Marketing Ideas to Try

Building your list is only the start of what you can do with Wi-Fi marketing. Here are some other ideas that you may want to consider.

    Collect Customer Analytics

Having access to your customers’ mobile devices means that you can collect a huge amount of data about them without any fuss. Wi-Fi marketing allows you to collect:

    • Demographic information
    • Purchasing behavior
    • Physical behavior (the frequency of their visits)

You can use the information you collect to tailor specific offers to your customers and send them notifications of upcoming sales and events.

    My Image

    Social Wi-Fi Marketing

Another option is to allow customers to log in to your Wi-Fi using their social media accounts. You’ve seen this on a lot of sites, I bet. Many customers will choose the convenience of logging in with an existing account over creating a new one.

You might wonder about this one. After all, it doesn’t allow you to collect email addresses or mobile numbers.

    Is it really worthwhile?

I’d say it depends. If your social media game is strong – and it should be by now! – then you can use your Wi-Fi login as a way of encouraging people to follow your social media accounts.

When people follow you on Facebook and Instagram, you get access to both their demographic information and their personal interests. This data can help you do a better job of targeting them with marketing and offers.

    Inform Customers

Wi-Fi marketing offers you the ability to provide relevant and useful information about your business and products directly to your customers.

A lot of products have a learning curve. Whether you’re introducing a new product or offering up ideas of ways to use an existing one, your Wi-Fi marketing can help you prime your customers to buy from you.

It’s also a way of engaging with your customers on an ongoing basis. People like to feel connected to the brands they use. You can connect in a way that doesn’t seem pushy, by giving people access to your Wi-Fi connection.

Think of it as wireless lead nurturing.

Every person who walks into your business could turn into a long-term customer. Wi-Fi marketing can help you move them down that road.

    My Image

    Provide Customer Service

In an ideal world, every customer would be thrilled with you and they’d buy from you for the rest of their lives.

But we don’t live in an ideal world. You know that.

Wireless marketing can allow you to follow up with customers after they leave your business and gather information about their experience. For example, you could send them a survey to complete. Or, you could simply touch base with a quick email or text.

Either way, you’re letting them know that you care about them and their experience and that you’re willing to do what’s necessary to turn them into loyal customers.

Is Wi-Fi Marketing Right for Your Business?

    Reward Customers

When people visit your business regularly, it’s a good idea to reward them. With Wi-Fi marketing, rewarding them is easy.

Because you can track who accesses your Wi-Fi, you’ll know when a customer visits you more than once, buys something, or makes multiple purchases.

You can use that information to target them with a thank you email or text that includes a coupon for their next visit or an exclusive offer based on their buying behavior.

This kind of direct marketing is hugely effective because it makes each customer feel valued. It’s a great way to turn a one-time buyer into a loyal customer.

    Wi-Fi isn’t just for you…

You can use it to connect with customers, gather valuable data about them, and give them incentives to buy from you again… and again.

    You think about that,

  • Power of a Dream

As adults, we need to realize that the power of a dream will enable you to achieve whatever your ultimate “WHY” in life is. By the age 25, most people lose all of their dreams and fall into a rut.

From the age 25-65, people generally go back and forth to work and say to
themselves,” I wish…if only I could have…if only I knew then what I know now,” and
numerous other lamentations as to why they do not feel fulfilled in life.

The key in life to feeling fulfilled is to simply listen to your inner spirit and make your daily work in life something that you love to do and will help you achieve your DREAMS!

The key word in that sentence is DREAMS! Too many people when asked, “Where do you see yourself 2-5 years from now” give the answer, “Just let me make it to this weekend.” The underlying reason that they don’t know where they are going to be is because they have no dreams.

This can be extremely frightening! Each of the teenagers that I spoke to this week has dreams for their life and where they see themselves in the future.

As a professional speaker and business coach, my ultimate outcome is to empower people to find their WHY in life — to catapult them to attain their dreams in life.

I also spoke to the group about how important it is to be around a mastermind team, which will push you on and let you know it is awesome you have a dream.

As an overall population, over 95% of adults have no mastermind team but they have group of so-called friends, who will tell every reason why they should never try to win and to just accept their life.

You need to stop right now and take a personal inventory of your life and ask yourself three life-changing questions:

    1) WHAT is my WHY in LIFE!!! (Why I am getting up each and every day?)

    2) WHO is my Mastermind Team?

    3) WHERE do I see myself 2-5 years from now?

When you answer these questions you need to be honest with yourself and tell yourself the truth because the truth shall set you FREE! The key to living a fulfilled life is waking up each day with a driving desire to achieve your “WHY”.

The key to winning in life is to be part of a winning team and realize life decisions are challenging but very beneficial. Bring your Dreams back to life!

    Find your WHY & FLY!

We hope you found this useful..

    Making Your Offers Irresistible

Want to increase your online sales? Make sure your offer is one they can’t pass up!

Any offer you make through your Internet copywriting needs to be worth the readers’ time. Time is valuable and there is no bigger waste of time – for you as the creator or for your reader – than a worthless offer.

A number of years ago, a newspaper advertising sales rep went to her boss, disgusted that her client would not buy the ad schedule she pitched. It turned out that the last time the client ran an ad – five years before – “I didn’t get a single result from my coupon” that he ran way back then.
The coupon was for a free coffee refill… something that was already common practice at the restaurant. Honestly, who would bother?

“Go back and tell that man we’ll run his ad for free if he will live up to the offer we create,” was the ad manager’s response.
From there, he proceeded to tell the young sales rep to tell the client that the coupon would read “Bring this in for $1.00 in cash.” So, she did.

The client naturally refused because he knew he would have too many takers. What he finally admitted to himself is that his advertising did not work because his offer was lousy.
Keep this business owner’s woes in mind as you plan to create your own irresistible offers with your Internet copywriting.

Make your offer one that is worth the time it takes to respond. A “Free 60 day trial” is a pretty good offer for an online program. What kind of offers can your business make?

The key to getting readers to respond to your offers is to make them irresistible. Can you afford to knock several dollars off the fee for your product or service? Or maybe you can make a strong guarantee, making your product or service almost risk free. Transferring the risk from the customer to you will help remove resistance to your offer.

Whatever it is you decide to offer, honor the offer at all costs. Keep your word and potential customers will quickly fall into place as current customers spread the word.

If you have never done any Internet copywriting before, don’t worry about it. No one knows your product or service as well as you do. Because of your passion for the product or service you are selling, you know it better than even a professional copywriter.
Let that passion lead your Internet copywriting as you work to create the perfect offer that your potential customers just cannot refuse!

If you need some help creating an irresistible offer for your Internet copywriting, ask yourself, “What would make me buy?” Think about your answer. Is it do-able? If so, let that be your irresistible offer.

You can always make it available for a limited time (another good way to get people to act quickly) in case you decide the offer is too good to be very profitable.

Add a sense of urgency to your offer to get people to act immediately. If they put it off, they are likely to forget about it and you end up losing the sale. Adding a sense of urgency can be done by limiting the quantity or time of the offer or both.
For example, the special offer is good only for the next 100 people who order, or the offer expires in 48 hours. You can even use both to heighten the sense of urgency.

In summary, make your offer irresistible. Make it worth the effort to the customer to place the order. Transfer the risk from the customer to you and add a sense of urgency.
Then be sure to live up to what you have written in you copy. If you do these thing, you’ll see your sales skyrocket!

  • Quora Security Breach

    Quora Security Breach

Quora recently discovered that some user data was compromised as a result of unauthorized access to their systems by a malicious third party. They are very sorry for any concern or inconvenience this may cause. They are working rapidly to investigate the situation further and take the appropriate steps to prevent such incidents in the future. Check out below:

    What Happened

On Friday we discovered that some user data was compromised by a third party who gained unauthorized access to our systems. We’re still investigating the precise causes and in addition to the work being conducted by our internal security teams, we have retained a leading digital forensics and security firm to assist us. We have also notified law enforcement officials.

While the investigation is still ongoing, we have already taken steps to contain the incident, and our efforts to protect our users and prevent this type of incident from happening in the future are our top priority as a company.

    What information was involved

The following information of yours may have been compromised:

    • Account and user information, e.g. name, email, IP, user ID, encrypted password, user account settings, personalization data
    • Public actions and content including drafts, e.g. questions, answers, comments, blog posts, upvotes
    • Data imported from linked networks when authorized by you, e.g. contacts, demographic information, interests, access tokens (now invalidated)
    • Non-public actions, e.g. answer requests, downvotes, thanks
    • Non-public content, e.g. direct messages, suggested edits

Questions and answers that were written anonymously are not affected by this breach as we do not store the identities of people who post anonymous content.

    What we are doing

While our investigation continues, we’re taking additional steps to improve our security:

    • We’re in the process of notifying users whose data has been compromised.
    • Out of an abundance of caution, we are logging out all Quora users who may have been affected, and, if they use a password as their authentication method, we are invalidating their passwords.
    • We believe we’ve identified the root cause and taken steps to address the issue, although our investigation is ongoing and we’ll continue to make security improvements.

We will continue to work both internally and with our outside experts to gain a full understanding of what happened and take any further action as needed.

    What you can do

We’ve included more detailed information about more specific questions you may have in our help center, which you can find here.

While the passwords were encrypted (hashed with a salt that varies for each user), it is generally a best practice not to reuse the same password across multiple services, and we recommend that people change their passwords if they are doing so.

    Conclusion

It is our responsibility to make sure things like this don’t happen, and we failed to meet that responsibility. We recognize that in order to maintain user trust, we need to work very hard to make sure this does not happen again. There’s little hope of sharing and growing the world’s knowledge if those doing so cannot feel safe and secure, and cannot trust that their information will remain private. We are continuing to work very hard to remedy the situation, and we hope over time to prove that we are worthy of your trust.

  • The Importance of Leaving a Legacy

The Importance of Leaving a Legacy

The Importance of Leaving a Legacy Our lives impact all those who follow us The principles we live by are the basis for the kind of legacy we will leave behind. We will also begin our how-tos by looking at how to leave a relational legacy. All of life is based on relationships, and we choose what direction those relationships go. We can live our lives in such a way that when we are gone, people are impacted by the relational legacy we left behind. The core of who we are as individuals is spiritual. We were created with the intention of relating to God through our spiritual life. One of the greatest gifts we can leave behind is a spiritual example and legacy. We will also talk about how to leave a life legacy that impacts people. There are those who live on this earth and then just disappear, leaving little more than a trace. And then there are others who, through their legacy, live on in others for years to come. The United States’ founding fathers, who had a dream of a place of self-determination.   Abraham Lincoln, who freed the slaves.   Franklin Delano Roosevelt, who saw us through the Great Depression.   The many men and women who defended our liberties through the wars of the 20th century so that we can live in freedom.   John F. Kennedy, who called us to explore space and set us on course to have a man walk on the moon.   Martin Luther King Jr., who left us a legacy to pursue the dream of racial equality.   There are literally thousands of men and women who lived in a way that affects our lives today.   And, yes, the list goes on from there as well. These are the people we knew, the people we lived with and who shaped us deeply, for better and for worse in some cases.   You see, a legacy can be anywhere on the continuum, from very bad to very good—it  all depends on how we live our lives.   How we live our lives is critically important. This month, I want to  challenge you to take a look at how you live. Challenge you to think deeply about the major areas of your life where you can and should leave a lasting legacy.   . The legacy we leave is part of the ongoing foundation of life. Those who came before leave us the world we live in. Those who come after will have only what we leave them. We are stewards of this world, and we have a calling on our lives to leave it better than how we found it, even if it seems like only a small part.   2. Legacies have raw power for good and for bad. There are people who have changed the world for good, people who have opened up new worlds for millions of others, people who have spurred others on to new heights. And, conversely, there are people who have caused massive destruction for countless millions, people who left a wake of pain behind them wherever they went. There are parents who have  blessed their children with greatness and parents who have ruined their children’s fragile minds and hearts. What we do affects others. Our lives have the power to create good or purvey evil. It is important that we choose to do good.   3. It is an act of responsibility to leave a legacy. Because of the power of our lives and the legacies we leave, it is a great responsibility to choose to leave a positive legacy. All good men and women must take responsibility to create legacies that will take the next generation to a level we could only imagine. I truly believe that part of what makes us good and honorable people is having a foundational part of our lives based on the goal of leaving a legacy.   4. Purposefully leaving a legacy for others breaks the downward pull of selfishness that can be inherent in us all. When we strive to leave a legacy, we are acting with a selflessness that can only be good for us. Yes, I suppose someone could work hard to earn money so that when he or she dies a building is named after them, but that is not the kind of legacy we are talking about. We are talking about legacies that make life better for those who come after us, not about our own fame or recognition, but about helping others. After all, we won’t be around to watch our legacy. To build that which will last beyond us is selfless, and living with that in mind breaks the power of selfishness that tries so desperately to engrain itself in our lives.   5. It also keeps us focused on the big picture. Legacy building is part of the “big  picture.” It keeps us focused on the long term and gives us values that we can judge our actions by. When we are acting based on selfishness, personal expediency and the like, we are focusing on the “small picture”—whatever is pragmatic right now. When we are building a life that will give for many years, we are thinking “big picture.” Ask yourself: How does this action affect my overall goals? How will this affect people in the years to come?

    Amazon 4-Star Concept

The first store was launched in September in New York and we already have a 2nd.

When you combine Amazon Books, Amazon Go, AmazonFresh Pickup, Amazon Pop-Ups, Package Pickups and Whole Foods – they’re nearing 600 locations.

And they’re hungry for more, Amazon wants thousands of physical locations in the next few years.

Today Amazon has launched a new physical store in New York City called “Amazon 4-Star”.

This is now their 3rd major retail concept, alongside Amazon Books and Amazon Pop-Up.

It seems like the new Amazon 4-Star brand might be their new flagship approach for the thousands of stores they are rumoured to be launching over the next few years.

    Here’s some pics:

    image
    image

The main concept of the store is listing 4 star and above, top seller and new & trending products.

Now is this good news or bad news for FBA sellers?

I would take a guess and say that right now all of the products in that store are products obtained by Amazon through the Vendor Central program, not Seller Central / FBA.

As more and more of these stores open up – we’ll need to wait and see if they bring FBA sellers in on the action or if they only use Vendor products in the store.

I’m not too sure they will bring FBA sellers in.

What’s your thoughts on this – let me know by replying to this email.

Does it make sense for Amazon to source products for these stores through FBA or will they stick to Vendor only?”

    Art of Communication

The Fundamentals of Effective Communication Our very success is heavily dependent upon our ability to communicate. This is not just for professional speakers. From schoolchildren to grandparents, everyone should work on improving their communication skills so they can improve their lives. Improving your ability to communicate will be one of the most important things you ever do.   One of the easiest ways to improve your communication is to start by solidifying your base, so to speak, by working on and improving the fundamentals. To get you started, here are a few areas that everyone should know and master.   Communication is powerful—for better and for worse. There is a proverb in the Bible that says, “The tongue has the power of life and death.” This is true. What a person says can build people up or tear them down. The ability to communicate is a powerful responsibility. Whole nations have been inspired to action because of single individual’s passionate words. On the other hand, countless millions of children have been deeply hurt because of the derogatory words spoken to them by their parents. You have within you the incredible power of communication. You can create tremendous things in your life if you take communication seriously and use its power to help others and yourself. Combining this knowledge with a heart set on doing good is the first step in unleashing this incredible force!   Communication must be purposeful. In order to be effective, your communication should be on purpose. Yes, occasionally you may say something off the top of your head and that can hold weight with others, but this is the exception and not the rule. In order to become an effective communicator, you should be very purposeful about your communication. Know what you want to communicate, when you want to communicate and how you want to communicate. Decide what kind of communication will enhance your life and the lives of those around you, and plan your steps for communicating in that way. And then work your plan—know what it is you want to accomplish and how must you communicate in order to do so.   What you say must match what you do. Remember, people watch what you do, not just what you say. What you do always outweighs what you say. If you say one thing and do another, people will follow what you do. If you say something and back it up with your actions, you will provide the “proof” for people who are listening to you, and they will much more willingly follow your lead.   Improve the “Big Two”: speaking and writing. When it comes to communication, these are the “Big Two” that everyone can improve upon: speaking and writing. For every one step that you take to increase your ability to speak and write, you will improve your career position two steps. Don’t think that you have to become the best speaker or writer in the world; just set your sights on the next level above where you are now. Once you get there, then continue to work to the next level.   Here are a few tips for becoming a better speaker and writer:   Becoming a better speaker: – Join Toastmasters. – Take a college course on public speaking. – Give a speech in front of a mirror. – Just speak—wherever you can.   Becoming a better writer: – Keep a journal. – Join a writing club. – Have people who are more skilled than you help edit (and critique) your letters and e-mails. – Take a college course on writing. – Write that book you’ve been thinking about.   Becoming a better speaker and writer will be based on three things: doing it, getting feedback and acting on that feedback.   Learn to listen. Communication is not one direction—it goes both ways. To become an effective communicator, you must be a good listener. All of the following examples show the power of listening: the parent who listens for the feelings of his or her child; the salesperson who listens for what kind of product the client wants; the boss who listens to the concerns of his employees. Can you see how listening in those situations enables you to become a better communicator? Once you know what your “audience” wants, you will be able to better communicate to them. We covered listening skills last month in detail. I would encourage you to go back over those items until they become a natural part of you.   Care about the people with whom you communicate. Talk with them, not to them. People don’t want you to talk at them. They want to communicate. Think about it: The root word is commune, which means to live and share together. This is what we do when we communicate together—we share words and ideas. This means we must care about the people we are communicating with. We should be interested in their needs and desires. And when we know those, we can communicate more effectively with them.   Focus on clarity. The most effective communication is clear communication. Many beginning speakers believe that they should be as verbose as possible—but that is not what makes them effective! The important principle is clarity. Do they (the people in your audience) understand your message? That is the question. If they don’t, then you haven’t communicated. Be as clear and as concise as you can. Never go any longer than it takes to make the communication as clear as it needs to be. And, above all, make sure your audience understands your message when you are finished.   Communicate over and over again. In order to be effective, communication must be done over and over again. The parent or boss who yells, “How many times must I tell you?” is really just proving again that people need to hear a message many times before they internalize it. That is just the difficult nature of communication. Very rarely will you be able to communicate something just once and have someone or some group walk away with full understanding. It just doesn’t happen that way. You need to do it often and in varied ways. This is what will make your communication most effective.   Improve your vocabulary, pronunciation and spelling. When people hear you or read what you have written, they look for class and style. This can often be noticed through your vocabulary, your pronunciation and your spelling. If you want to be more effective, focus on improving in these areas. A key phrase is that our vocabulary directly affects the way we both view and interpret the world around us. If we have a small vocabulary, it limits our ability to define or communicate what we see, feel and hear. The larger the vocabulary, the better our ability to relate. What size is your view—a peephole or a huge, clear window showing the great expanse of this amazing, wonderful world we live in?   You can become an effective communicator! Start with improving the fundamentals, and you will get better. Once you have mastered the fundamentals—and very few have—then you can start on the advanced areas and become world-class!
